CLEANING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FOAM PRODUCTS
(Coated & Closed Cell Foam Positioners/Table Pads and Vinyl Bolsters)
To ensure the proper care of your new COATED or CLOSED CELL sponges and/or COATED table pads, we recommend the following guidelines for cleaning, care, and storage.
TO CLEAN the surface of COATED and CLOSED CELL sponges and/or COATED table pads that have become dirty or dusty with normal use and storage, wash with cold water and a mild general purpose soap (409 spray, etc.).Avoid using detergent cleaners that contain hydrocarbon solvents like acetone or ammonia.
Avoid rigorous scrubbing, abrasive pads, or stiff brushes as they can damage the surface.
TO DISINFECT the surface of your COATED and CLOSED CELL sponges and/or COATED table pads that have become soiled with blood, bodily fluids, barium, betadine, or other fluids, we recommend the use of hospital approved disinfectant wipes or sprays. Allow manufacturer recommended drying time in between patients.
A 10% Bleach solution can be used as a disinfectant if manufacture's guidelines are strictly followed. Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in a void of warranty.
Do NOT autoclave, steam, soak, launder or submerge in water.
CARE & WARRANTY covers foam products designed to provide aid to technologist when positioning a patient, and comfort for the patient during imaging procedures. The surface provides a barrier that can be cleaned between patients.
If your COATED foam product is punctured or torn, this barrier does not provide a barrier of protection for infection control and should be taken out of service immediately and replaced. This does NOT apply to CLOSED CELL foam products as the crosslink polyethylene foam is non-porous and resistant to fluid even if punctured or torn.
Because of the nature of foam products, there is a 30 day manufacturing warranty on sponges and/or table pads to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use. Warranty does not cover damage from misuse, mis-handling or neglect.
STORE sponges in a clean dry area when not in use. Table Pads should be kept on a flat surface to prevent creases or hung on a table rack pad.
