POSITIONING FOAM FEATURES
COATED Sponges feature a proprietary medical grade, fluid-resistant, cleanable coating over a standard (core) foam interior. Minimal shadowing with low attenuation. COATED sponges are radiolucent. Light green color.
N-VISI-RAY COATED Sponges feature a patented medical grade, fluid-resistant COATED surface that is easy to clean with any medical grade disinfectant wipe or spray. COATED surface does not easily peel off or tear like other COATED sponges on the market. They are radiolucent and have minimal shadowing with low attenuation. These unique heavy-duty sponges are designed and manufactured with a patented flared angle that significantly reduces artifacts during x-ray imaging. The flared sides increase the overall size of a standard non-flared sponge but does not affect imaging or positioning. Meets the new California 2015 Technical Bulletin #117-2013 standards. Black color.
CLOSED CELL crosslink polyethylene sponges are made from lightweight, radiolucent, non-porous foam. These positioning sponges are entirely fluid resistant, easy to clean and extremely durable. CLOSED CELL sponges have a higher tensile and tear strength compared to most foam products on the market. They are ozone resistant and impervious to mildew, mold, rot, and bacteria. They are nontoxic, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. The surface provides a barrier that can be easily cleaned in between patients and creates a barrier of protection for infection control even if the foam is punctured or torn.100% radiolucent artifact free imaging.
NON-COATED Sponges are a basic (core), open-cell piece of foam. These economical sponges are non allergenic and radiolucent. They do not feature a cleanable surface and are not resistant to fluid absorption.
VINYL COVERED Sponges are made from high density, lightweight foam and covered in heavy gauge, reinforced vinyl. These premium positioning sponges help create extreme patient comfort during long procedures. Non-porous surface is easy to clean with 10% bleach solution or any hospital grade disinfectant wipe/spray. Sewn seams provide a fully sealed design that inhibits the growth of microorganisms, offering superior hygiene compared to hook & loop closures or zippers. Fluid resistant, fire retardant, antimicrobial, and anti-fungal offering superior bacterial protection. Latex Free. VINYL COVERED sponges are radiolucent but seams will show under X-Ray.
STEALTH Sponges are designed with proprietary"flared" angles to offer significantly reduced artifacts during viewing. Flared sides will increase overall size.
NON-STEALTH Sponges are formed with traditional angles and do not feature our proprietary "flared" angles to offer significantly reduced artifacts during viewing. Non-stealth (or non-flared) sides may show artifacts when imaging, specifically when coating is applied.

CLEANING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FOAM PRODUCTS
(Coated & Closed Cell Foam Positioners/Table Pads and Vinyl Bolsters)
To ensure the proper care of your new COATED or CLOSED CELL sponges and/or COATED table pads, we recommend the following guidelines for cleaning, care, and storage.
TO CLEAN the surface of COATED and CLOSED CELL sponges and/or COATED table pads that have become dirty or dusty with normal use and storage, wash with cold water and a mild general purpose soap (409 spray, etc.).Avoid using detergent cleaners that contain hydrocarbon solvents like acetone or ammonia.
Avoid rigorous scrubbing, abrasive pads, or stiff brushes as they can damage the surface.
TO DISINFECT the surface of your COATED and CLOSED CELL sponges and/or COATED table pads that have become soiled with blood, bodily fluids, barium, betadine, or other fluids, we recommend the use of hospital approved disinfectant wipes or sprays. Allow manufacturer recommended drying time in between patients.
A 10% Bleach solution can be used as a disinfectant if manufacture's guidelines are strictly followed. Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in a void of warranty.
Do NOT autoclave, steam, soak, launder or submerge in water.
CARE & WARRANTY covers foam products designed to provide aid to technologist when positioning a patient, and comfort for the patient during imaging procedures. The surface provides a barrier that can be cleaned between patients.
If your COATED foam product is punctured or torn, this barrier does not provide a barrier of protection for infection control and should be taken out of service immediately and replaced. This does NOT apply to CLOSED CELL foam products as the crosslink polyethylene foam is non-porous and resistant to fluid even if punctured or torn.
Because of the nature of foam products, there is a 30 day manufacturing warranty on sponges and/or table pads to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use. Warranty does not cover damage from misuse, mis-handling or neglect.
STORE sponges in a clean dry area when not in use. Table Pads should be kept on a flat surface to prevent creases or hung on a table rack pad.
